SCP-XXXX
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be contained in an on-site vehicular storage facility with an empty fuel tank. SCP-XXXX is to be monitored for signs of activity.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a standard construction excavator with a grapple attachment instead of the shovel present on most excavators. Prior to its retrieval and containment, it had activated without a driver and displayed signs of sentience via operating on its own accord. Object was discovered neutralized.

NOTE: Christopher Trumbus is walking with a Shih Tzu on a leash before he gets surrounded by three assailants who attempt to forcefully obtained his belongings.

9:14P.M.: Christopher walks past his place of employment with a Shih Tzu on a leash. Two men quickly approach from the side, brandishing knives. Christopher holds his hand upwards in a defensive gesture. They talk for approximately two minutes.
9:16P.M.: Christopher reaches into his pocket, pulls out a wallet, throws it towards the assailants and immediately attempts to flee. One of the assailants grabs him and holds him in place while checking it. The assailant drops the wallet1 and punches Christopher, knocking him to the ground.
9:19P.M.: The Shih Tzu barks at the assailants, who initially ignore it. It attacks one of them, who then it kills it by crushing its head under his heel. They continue physically assaulting Christopher for another minute.
9:20P.M.: They eventually cease their attacks, reach into his pocket and retrieve his other wallet. One of them takes the decoy wallet from the ground before they both flee the scene.
9:28P.M. Christopher lays on the ground, breathing heavily after the altercation. He takes his phone out of his pocket and attempts to use it. It appears to be too damaged to function. In the background, an excavator anomalously activates, thereafter earning the designation of SCP-XXXX. The headlights engage and it slowly moves towards Christopher, who tries to crawl away. SCP-XXXX raises its grapple attachment upwards and honks loudly before driving around him and speeding onto the main road.

Addendum-XXXX-2:
SCP-XXXX was discovered to possess a dash camera. Video transcripts of following incidents involving SCP-XXXX have been added.

DATE: 4/21/2018
NOTE: SCP-XXXX followed the assailants' precise movements via unknown means and proceeded to murder them.

9:32P.M.: SCP-XXXX speeds into live traffic, causing car accidents and pileups to occur behind it as drives, pushing obstacles out of the way with the grapple attachment when needed.
9:40P.M.: SCP-XXXX drives into a nearby neighborhood and stops at a house at the end of a cul-de-sac. It shines its brights into the windows, flashing them repeatedly while revving the engine. It drives directly into the house, shattering the walls and windows and sending debris crashing to the ground.
One of the assailants rushes off the couch, sees it, and immediately attempts to flee. SCP-XXXX quickly collapses the ceiling on him, trapping him underneath a large chunk of metal crushing his leg.
SCP-XXXX's grapple attachment largely partially obscures footage, however, the sounds of screaming and snapping bones can be heard. SCP-XXXX tears one arm off the man and throws it away. It then closes the tool around his waist, separating his upper torso from his lower, splashing blood and entrails on the shattered tile floor.
9:45P.M.: SCP-XXXX reverses back out of the house, debris drifting down the windshield and tumbling to the ground outside. It lifts the grapple tool high and drops the man to the ground before speeding forward and crushing his twitching body.
9:48P.M.: SCP-XXXX turns and faces the house again. The other assailant can be seen attempting to free himself from some debris. SCP-XXXX mutilates and crushes this man in a similar fashion. It then drives away.

Addendum-XXXX-3:
SCP-XXXX later returned to the construction site and retrieved the body of the Shih Tzu as well as its collar and leash. It brought these items to Christopher Trumbus' home.

<SCP-XXXX drives up to Christopher's house and sits there. It honks loudly and flashes its brights. Moments later, Christopher opens the front door and steps out, covering his eyes. He appears to have been in a phone call2, as he steps back into the house, speaks something into his smartphone, and steps back outside.>
Christopher: Who are you? What do you want?
<SCP-XXXX honks, causing Christopher to flinch. At this point, his eyes widen, as he seems to realize that SCP-XXXX has no driver. It lowers the digger tool and drops the body of the Shih Tzu in front of him.>
Christopher: Ah…I…officer…I…think…<Christopher hangs up and puts his phone in his pocket.> Pinchy?
<SCP-XXXX flashes its lights.>
Christopher: Pinchy? Oh my god, Pinchy?
<Christopher approaches SCP-XXXX and places a hand on its side. The lights flicker softly.>
Christopher: Hold on, boy. I'm gonna…come inside, alright?
<Christopher opens SCP-XXXX's door and gets inside. From there, the inside camera records Christopher's movements.>
Christopher: Hold on…alright, boy, I'm just gonna turn on the dash cam and see what happened, alright?
<SCP-XXXX begins honking and backing and accelerating haphazardly.>
Christopher: Hey, stop it! Pinchy!
<SCP-XXXX abruptly stops.>
Christopher: …You are my dog after all. What the hell. <He reaches over to the dash camera and replays footage from within the last hour.> Oh…Pinchy…oh my god, Pinchy.
[EXCESS VIDEO FOOTAGE FAST-FORWARDED]
<Christopher sits forward and rests his head on the steering wheel, breathing heavily.>
Christopher: Pinchy. I don't think you realize what you did, boy.
<SCP-XXXX's lights start to dim.>
Christopher: You didn't have to go and do that. They fucked me up, yeah, but they're people. You don't know what they're going through, Pinchy. You don't what might have made them go low enough to mug me. They're shitheads, I get it, but still. <He sighs.>
<The door closes shut by itself.>
Christopher: Pinchy?
<SCP-XXXX picks up the Shih Tzu's body and begins driving away from the house.>
Christopher: Wait wait, where the hell are you taking me?
<SCP-XXXX activates the on-board GPS.>
Christopher: Oh…alright.
[EXTRANEOUS DRIVING FOOTAGE REMOVED]
<SCP-XXXX drives to Wellington Regional Park and parks in the grass next to a bench. The door opens again, allowing Christopher to step out..>
Christopher: Why did you bring me here, boy?
<SCP-XXXX drops the Shih Tzu's body on the grass and begins digging a hole next to it.>
Christopher: I…I get it.
<SCP-XXXX drops a mound of dirt next to the freshly dug hole. It slowly lowers the grapple tool to the Shiz Tzu's corpse.>
Christopher: Wait. <He puts a hand on the grapple tool. SCP-XXXX stops.> I'm…sorry. About today. I…wish it didn't have to…I wish I didn't get you killed.
<SCP-XXXX flickers its headlights before grabbing the body, dropping it into the hole and burying it.>
Christopher: Hey, boy. How much time do you have—no, wait, I don't even know if that's how it…
<Christopher wipes his eye.>
Christopher: Why don't we just sit down for a bit? Huh?
<SCP-XXXX drives up next to the bench while Chris sits down. SCP-XXXX's headlights slowly dim over time before fading completely.>

Closing statement: Foundation Personnel arrived shortly afterwards, contained SCP-XXXX and amnesticized Christopher Trumbus. SCP-XXXX was discovered deactivated and depleted of fuel. Subsequent re-fueling has not incurred any further anomalous activity.
